Reorganizing the bookshelves

Spent three hours pulling books off the shelves and vacuuming the dust behind them. You can trace your own intellectual history by looking at the books you bought in different years. Found an old paperback of Marcus Aurelius that I bought fifteen years ago, filled with enthusiastic pencil markings that now make me smile. Some books were mentors for a single season, while others remain companions for a lifetime. Kept fifty books that still speak to me and set aside two boxes to donate to the library.
